BPC 2023 GRAND FINAL
Congratulations to George Harris who has been crowned the 2023 Bear Poker Championship Champion. George qualified through Event 7’s 3 Bullet tournament and outlasted the 16 qualifiers in Saturdays 50k Freezeout Grand Final.

PPC Event 7 Result
3 Bullet
Event 7 of the 2023 Piper Poker Championship saw 21 players compete for the 2 Grand Final seats. The 3 Bullet tournament was played at the Bears Paw in Upton.
With 3 remaining a deal was made between Steve Craven (£300) Chelsie Glynn (£300) and George Harris (£200). Steve came out of top but as he is unavailable for Decembers final, Chelsie and George take the seats.
PPC Event 6 (The Bully) Result
Event 6 of the 2023 Piper Poker Championship saw the return of the ‘Choose The Button’ tournament.
With 2 more PPC Grand Final seats up for grabs a field of 29 participated in September’s Choose The Button Tournament. The adaption of the regular Win The Button concept saw the hand winner deciding where the button went for the following hand.
Mikey Barlow finished in 4th and cashed for £50. Tom Chatterton came in 3rd and bubbled the qualifying seats taking home £125. Andy Lanceley and Lance Kristiansson are our newest Grand Final qualifiers with Andy winning the heads up battle after a deal was made.
GOLIATH 2023
5 Piper Chester players competed in this years Goliath Poker Tournament in Coventry. Andy Lanceley, Mandy Rubens and Paul Conner failed to make it through day 1 with debutant Charles Denman and Michael Williams taking their stacks into Day 2.
Denman was eliminated in the first hand of the day and missed out on a payout by 30 mins. This left Williams as our last hope. With a total field of 11,493 he ended up winishing in 106th taking home £1060 and appearing on the televised feature table.
Event 5 Result - Mystery Bounty
The 5th event of this years Piper Poker Championship generated 33 entries with 2 grand final seats up for grabs. The Mystery Bounty event created a largest bounty of £150 which was won my Bogdan Palade. John Burberry took the 2nd biggest bounty, pocketing £100.
Carl Stephens took the win with John Burberry finishing second. Both players have qualified for the PPC Grand Final. Charles Denman and George Griffin took the final money places.
Next Event is the popular ‘Choose The Button’ which will be played on the 2nd September.

Event 3 of the Piper Poker Championship saw the return of the popular Chaos Tournament. 41 entries took part in the unlimited rebuy tournament and generated a record PPC event pot of over £1600
With 2 Grand Final seats available the final 5 made the money with Wes James taking down another title and Charles Denman securing the second seat in Decembers Final.

PPC Event 2 - Bounty Result
26 players contested June's Event 2 of this years Piper Poker Championship at the Piper, Chester
Michael Williams came on top after almost 7 hours of play taking the win with Fred Smith finishing second with both players securing their seats in Decembers Grand Final. Charles Denman and Nathan Jones rounded out the money places.
The Grand Final Prize Pot now sits at £201
Event 3 is an unlimited re-buy tournament which will take place on 8th July with the top 2 finishers earning a seat in this years final.
PPC Event 1 - ‘The Dealer’ - Win The Button
31 players entered Saturdays Event 1 of the 2023 Piper Poker Championship at the Piper Pub in Chester. The ‘Win The Button’ tournament produced a prize pot of over £1200 with the top 2 qualifying for Decembers PPC Grand Final.
Two of last seasons Grand Finalists Steve Craven & Andy Lanceley were eliminated early along with Redtooth National Finalist Fred Smith. Last years Event 1 winner Tom Sproston accumulated the Chip lead early and carried it through to the final table.
With a deal being agreed for 5th place, Narcis Mitu went out on the bubble with Mandy Rubens finishing 5th. George Griffin and Jake Derbyshire fell next to confirm Tom and Rob McAdam’s Grand Final seats. With Tom’s commanding chip lead, he got it done relatively quickly to secure his 2nd PPC title.

PPC 2023 Event Schedule
Redtooth National Final
3 players from the Piper Poker Club played in today’s Redtooth National Final in Leeds. 181 players from the north of the UK competed with the top 5 winning a package to Las Vegas in 2024. The payout ran down to 14th.
Andy Lanceley busted in 81st with Dipesh Mistry falling in 47th. Our highest finisher was Fred Smith who flopped trip 9’s before runner runner gave his opponent a straight. Fred finished in 39th.

Matt Davies
Everyone at Piper Poker are saddened to hear the news that Matt Davies has recently passed away.
Matt has played poker with us for the last 10 - 15 years and will be remembered as the genuine, friendly, light hearted person that he was.
All our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Matt’s family and friends at this difficult time.
The funeral will be held at Blacon Crematorium at 10:30 3rd April
